Mayaya's family consists of her overbearing mother, her father, her elderly grandfather, and her cousin Mami. Mayaya is most close with Mami because she is the one who got her into three kingdoms in the first place. Mayaya however does not have a very good relationship with her mother.

Mayaya is friends with all of the Amars, but appears to be tightest with Banba.

When she was younger she was teased about her looks. She was called "Contract Killer" due to her scary looking eyes, which lead her to cover them with her bangs, but she was then referred to as "Bamboo Broom". Kuranosuke tells her she has the looks of a model and has her become the second model for the fashion show, by bribing her with capsule toys.
